Website Maintenance & Support

Updates tested before they ship, backups proven by restoring them, and a real person to call when something breaks at an inconvenient hour.

All Web Services

Overview

An untested backup is a hope, not a backup.

Most maintenance plans are a cron job and an invoice: updates applied automatically on a Tuesday, a backup written to a bucket nobody has ever read back, and a report confirming both happened. It looks like maintenance right up to the morning an update breaks checkout, or the day you need the backup and discover it has been failing silently since March.

We test updates on a staging copy before they touch production, and we restore backups on a schedule specifically to prove they work. When something does break, fixing it is included rather than billed as an incident — which is the only arrangement where our interests and yours actually point the same direction.

Capabilities

What's included

  • Tested updatesCore, plugin, theme, and dependency updates applied on staging and checked before production.
  • Verified backupsOffsite backups with scheduled restore tests, because an unrestored backup is unproven.
  • Security patchingVulnerability monitoring against your actual stack, with urgent patches applied out of cycle.
  • Emergency hotfixesWhen something breaks, the fix is part of the plan — not a separate quote while the site is down.
  • Content & small changesA monthly allowance for the edits that are too small to raise a project for.
  • Monthly reportingWhat was updated, what broke, what was fixed, and what needs a decision from you.

How We Work

Our approach

  1. 01

    Onboard

Document the stack, take ownership of backups, and establish a staging environment if there is not one.

  2. 02

    Baseline

Clear the backlog of outstanding updates and known faults before starting the routine cycle.

  3. 03

    Maintain

Scheduled tested updates, monitored security advisories, and restore tests on a fixed cadence.

  4. 04

    Review

Monthly report and a standing recommendation on what is worth doing next.

Common Questions

Questions we get asked

What counts as an emergency hotfix?

Anything that stops the site doing its job — checkout failing, forms not sending, pages erroring, or the site being down. Fixing it is included in the plan.

Do you maintain sites you did not build?

Yes. Onboarding starts by documenting what is actually there and clearing the backlog of outstanding updates, which is usually where the accumulated risk sits.

What if we only need occasional help?

Then say so and we will price it that way. A monthly plan makes sense when the site matters commercially; it is a bad deal for a brochure site that changes twice a year.

Does this include hosting?

No, and deliberately. Your hosting account stays in your name so you are never in a position where leaving us means losing your site.
