Overview

For a local business, the map results are the search results.

Search for a plumber, a dentist, an IT company or a law firm and the first thing you see is three businesses on a map. Those three get most of the calls. Who gets in is decided by things that have little to do with the website: whether the Google Business Profile is complete and active, how many recent reviews there are and what they say, whether the business name, address and phone number match across the web, and whether the site has a page that clearly serves that place.

Local SEO is the work of getting those things right and keeping them right. We set up or clean up the profile, build a process for asking happy customers for reviews that stays inside Google's rules, fix the directory listings that disagree with each other, write the location and service-area pages, and watch the map results each month for what moved — including the competitor listings that should not be there.

If you have several locations or serve several towns, each one is its own job. The page for Nixa is not the page for Ozark with the name swapped, and Google can tell.

How We Work

Our approach

  1. 01

    Audit

The profile, the listings, the reviews and the map results for your main searches, compared with the businesses that currently show up.

  2. 02

    Fix the profile and listings

Everything on the profile completed properly; every directory saying the same thing.

  3. 03

    Build pages and reviews

Location pages written, the review request process switched on with your team.

  4. 04

    Track and maintain

Monthly posts, photos and Q&A on the profile, and a report on calls, directions and position.

To Get Started

What we need from you

  • Manager access to the Google Business Profile, or permission to create one.
  • The exact business name, address and phone number as you want them everywhere.
  • Your service list and the towns, counties or radius you serve.
  • A way to reach recent customers for review requests — a list, or the person who sends invoices.

Common Questions

Questions we get asked

We work from home or a van and have no storefront. Can we still rank locally?

Yes. Google supports service-area businesses: the profile hides the address and shows the areas you serve instead. The rules about what counts as a legitimate business still apply, and we set it up so you are not at risk of a suspension, which is the most common thing that goes wrong with hidden-address profiles.

How do we get more Google reviews without breaking the rules?

Ask every customer, at the right moment, with a direct link, and never offer anything in return or filter who gets asked. That sounds obvious, but most businesses do not have a routine for it. We build the routine — the link, the wording, the timing, who sends it — and track how many come in each month.

How long until we show up in the map results?

Profile fixes and listing corrections are usually reflected within a few weeks. Moving into the top three for a competitive search in a larger city takes longer and depends on reviews accumulating and the pages maturing, so we talk in months and show you the trend each month rather than promise a date.

We have several locations. Does each one need its own work?

Each location needs its own profile, its own reviews and its own page, and Google judges them separately. We scope multi-location work per location so the price is clear, and we build the pages so they are genuinely different rather than one template with the town name changed.

Do you need our Google login?

No. You add us as a manager on the Business Profile from your own account, which lets us do everything the work requires while you remain the owner. We never ask for the password, and if we stop working together you remove our access with one click.

What is NAP and why does it matter?

Name, address and phone number. Google cross-checks what your website, your profile and dozens of directories say about the business, and when they disagree — an old phone number here, a suite number missing there — it trusts the listing less. Making them consistent is unglamorous and it works.
