Cybersecurity
SIEM, endpoint detection, Zero Trust access, email security, and threat intelligence — sourced for government, education, and business on one consolidated quote.
How cybersecurity is bought
What agencies usually ask for
Most cybersecurity requests arrive as one of three things: a renewal that is about to lapse, a gap called out by an audit or an insurance questionnaire, or a mandate such as NIST 800-53 control families, CJIS for anyone touching criminal justice data, or a state cybersecurity standard. The lines that come up most are an endpoint detection and response agent, a firewall or secure access edge, a log platform or SIEM, and identity-based (Zero Trust) access for staff and contractors.
How this category is licensed
Security tooling is priced by what it protects. Endpoint products are per device or per user per year. SIEM and log platforms are priced on ingest, usually gigabytes per day, or on the compute they consume. Firewalls are an appliance purchase plus a subscription for threat feeds and support, and secure access services are per user. Multi-year terms are common and usually change the unit price, so the term you choose is part of the quote, not an afterthought.
What to have ready for a quote
Endpoint counts by operating system, user counts including contractors, an estimate of daily log volume if a SIEM is in scope, the end dates of anything you already own so new lines can co-term with them, whether the deployment is cloud or on-premises, and the compliance driver behind the purchase. With those in hand we price each line with the vendor or its distributor and return one consolidated quote, with the procurement paths available to your agency noted alongside it.
Typical combinations
A smaller agency often pairs an endpoint agent with email security and multi-factor authentication. A larger one adds a SIEM, a firewall refresh, and Zero Trust access in the same buy so the pieces are sized against each other. Implementation and tuning are quoted as separate lines when you want them, so the software quote stays comparable on its own.
What moves the price most
Term length, the endpoint or user tier you land in, daily ingest for a SIEM, and the throughput class of a firewall appliance. Buying a vendor's suite rather than three point products changes the total in both directions, so we quote it both ways when the option exists. Support level and any professional services are shown separately so they can be trimmed without touching the licences.
