Managed Vulnerability Management

Continuous scanning for known weaknesses across every device, ranked by real risk and fixed through the same platform that patches — not a PDF of findings nobody acts on.

All Managed IT

Overview

A vulnerability scan is a list. Vulnerability management is what happens to the list.

Every business that has bought a scan has the same story: a report with hundreds of findings, color-coded, delivered as a PDF, and then nothing. The findings were real, but nobody owned fixing them, and the next scan found the same ones plus new ones. Meanwhile the handful that actually mattered — the ones with a public exploit, on a machine that faces the internet — sat in the pile with the rest.

We run it as a service rather than an event. Every managed device is scanned continuously for known weaknesses in the operating system, third-party software and configuration. Findings are ranked by how exploitable they are in your environment, not by how many there are. Then the ones that matter are fixed — through patching, scripted configuration changes or an upgrade — inside the same platform, by the same team, with the result verified on the next scan.

What you see is a short monthly report: what was found, what was fixed, what is accepted as a known risk and why. It is also the document a cyber-insurance application or a compliance audit asks for.

Capabilities

What's included

  • Continuous vulnerability scanningOperating systems, third-party applications and configurations checked on every managed device.
  • Risk-based prioritizationFindings ranked by exploitability and exposure in your environment, so the dangerous few come first.
  • Remediation through patching and scriptsFixes applied through the management platform and verified on the next scan.
  • Third-party scanner intakeFindings from an external or compliance scanner brought into the same remediation workflow.
  • Exceptions and compensating controlsLegacy software that cannot be patched is isolated, documented and reviewed, not ignored.
  • Monthly reportingFound, fixed and accepted, in a form an auditor or insurer can read.

How It Works

Delivered on our platform

Scanning and remediation run in NinjaOne, our enterprise management platform, which added a dedicated vulnerability management product in 2026. Findings land next to the patching and scripting tools that fix them, so remediation is a workflow rather than a hand-off between vendors.

Common Questions

Questions we get asked

Is this the same thing as patch management?

They overlap but are not the same. Patch management applies updates on a schedule; vulnerability management finds the weaknesses that exist right now — including ones a patch has not fixed, misconfigurations, and software that is out of support — ranks them, and makes sure something is done about each. Most fixes do come through patching, which is why the two run on the same platform.

How is it different from antivirus or detection and response?

Antivirus and MDR react to an attack as it happens. Vulnerability management removes the openings an attacker would use before the attempt is made. A business needs both: the first for the attacks that get through, the second so fewer get through in the first place. Insurers increasingly ask for evidence of both.

What about software we cannot patch?

Every environment has some — a lab instrument, an accounting package on an old version, a device whose vendor stopped updating it. Those findings are not deleted or ignored. We document them, add compensating controls such as network isolation and restricted access, and review them with you so the risk is known and accepted rather than forgotten.

Do cyber insurers require vulnerability management?

Many applications now ask directly whether you scan for vulnerabilities and how quickly critical ones are remediated, alongside questions about MFA, EDR and backups. The monthly report from this service answers those questions with evidence rather than a tick box, which matters when a claim is being assessed.

How often do you scan?

Continuously, because new vulnerabilities are published every day and a monthly or quarterly scan leaves long gaps. Each managed device reports its current state to the platform, findings are re-ranked as new information arrives, and remediation runs on the normal patch cadence or faster when something critical and exploited appears.
